It was a interesting experience.

Kinja'd!!!

A sketchy Chinese restaurant felt like an appropriate back drop.

The numbers that matter:

- 2L OHV 4 cylinder pushing 99hp/119lb-ft when new, not even god knows what it makes now.

- RWD with a rear LSD. Basically a NA Miata.

- it weighs 2646lb, maybe less with the rust.

- it has a 5spd

Kinja'd!!!

The engine made noise & it moved. The clutch just barely engaged, & it moved. It stopped adequately, it turned adequately. It made mildly concerning noises, but I don’t own it so oh well.

Handling wise with the blown struts & sway bar that was rusted in half it has cargo ship levels of body roll. The brakes squealed like hog in heat, but they still worked. When the owner told me “Don’t shift mid-turn, it will stall.  I don’t know why, but don’t.”

Kinja'd!!!

Pros: the seats where very comfy, & it was manual.

Cons: everything else.

Sounds like this example was in rough shape. In good condition these are actually very comfortable cruisers.

Yes it ran, run well? Hell no. It did run good enough to get from Vancouver to Southern/Central Onatrio.

We took rustholes- are- weight- reduction’s 505 V6 Evolution for food when on the Euro ppomeet, and it’s comfort really surprised me, even with the blown shocks . It effortlessly carried the 5 of us in it’s comfy seats. I kinda want one now...

Father of a friend of mine in high school (mid 90’s)had some kind of Peugeot similar to this . I never got a chance to see it up close but I always thought it was a cool car and kind of like the sort of furrowed brow shape to the front.

Well, at least the seats were working correctly. That was always one of the outstanding features on a Pug of this era.
